Everest High Passes Trek is an adventurous walk in an Everest region crossing three high passes Kongma La, Cho la and Renjo la including an opportunity to be at Everest base camp, Kalapathhar and Gokyo valley with Gokyo ri & Gokyo lakes exploration. Either it be level of difficulty, Himalayan sceneries, glacial lakes, crossing high passes or local Sherpa cultural exploration; everything is at its best and highest level during high pass Everest trek.


Initially we board a scenic flight to Lukla airstrip followed by trekking to Phakding in the very same day. Following the river banks of Dudh Koshi, passing through beautiful rhododendron forests with spectacular views of grand Himalayas we follow the iconic routes of Everest region treks. Especially around Tengboche, there are several ancient monasteries which is a wonderful opportunity to explore cultural highlights of local Sherpa people. Among the three high passes, we cross Kongma la first, followed by trek to Everest base camp, Kalapathhar for amazing sunrise views. Then we will be crossing Cho-la pass and entering magical gokyo valley. Gokyo valley is known for its magical glacial turquoise lakes and scintillating views from summit of Gokyo ri. Finally after gokyo valley exploration we cross Renjo la Pass and follow route to Thame, Namche and Lukla to catch our flight back to Kathmandu. On the simpler note, months from (March to May) and (September to November) are regarded as the best seasons to embark in for this ultimate adventure.


Everest high passes trekking is recommended for all those adventure lovers possessing high level of physical fitness level with previous high altitude trekking experience. Similarly, Tourist Visa with Multiple Entry for 90 days can be obtained by paying US $ 100. Please bring 2 copies of passport size photos.).

  • Day 1: Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel

    Upon arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport and completion of customs and visa arrangements, our office representative will meet and greet you at international arrival terminals. He/she will be holding Icicles Adventure Treks sign board with your name on it. Then transfer to hotel in Kathmandu on private vehicle. Check in, take rest and enjoy rest of the day. Overnight stay at hotel in Kathmandu.

  • Day 2: Fly to Lukla and trek to Phakding

    Initially, we board a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, meet our porter team. Then we start our trekking activity from Lukla walking along the river banks of Dudhkoshi river. Later we will arrive at the small town of Phakding. Overnight in local lodge. Walking time 4 – 5 hrs, Included Meals: B, L, D

  • Day 3: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar

    In the beginning days, we make our way through the rhododendron forests, waterfalls, beautifully carved colorful stone rocks. We will then head towards popular acclimatization site of Namche Bazar. Namche is a well known Sherpa village with lots of amenities being offered to trekkers. Overnight in local lodge. Walking time 5 – 6 hrs, Included Meals: B, L, D

  • Day 4: Namche Bazaar: Acclimatization Day

    Acclimatization is important for making any trip a successful one. Therefore, we spend two nights at one of most popular acclimatizing point of Namche Bazar today. Even though acclimatization day is understood as rest day, we will make it an active one by hiking to Everest hotel.  It will make our body adaptation to changing surroundings. Overnight in local lodge. Walking time 4-5 hrs, Included Meals: B, L, D

  • Day 5: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche

    After having our early meal at our guest house in Namche Bazar, we gradually ascend towards Tengboche. Tengboche is a beautiful culturally affluent site offering best of religious sightseeing around ancient monastery. We also enjoy an excellent panoramic views of Everest and other surrounding snow capped mountains. There is also plenty of opportunity to spot Himalayan flora and fauna. Overnight in local lodge. Walking time 5 – 6 hrs, Included Meals: B, L, D

  • Day 6: Tengboche to Dingboche

    We will further head towards Dingboche walking through the beautiful valley surrounded by the hills that surrounds the route we make our way through. Along the way, we trek along the green forests, spot flora, fauna like Musk deer, Himalayan Thar and beautiful pheasants. At the local village of Phunkitehnga, we take our quick stop and have our lunch. Overnight in local lodge. Walking time 5 – 6 hrs, Included Meals: B, L, D

  • Day 7: Dingboche -Acclimatization Day: Chhukung Hike

    Dingboche is a small valley surrounded by great Everest Himalayan range from all directions. Today will be our second acclimatization day of the EBC and Three passes trek. We follow the acclimatization rules properly as we will today climb high and sleep low. On the clear weather day, excellent views of Amadablam, Lobuche, Thamserku and other neighboring peaks is seen. Overnight in local lodge. Walking time 5 – 6 hrs, Included Meals: B, L, D

  • Day 8: Trek Chhukung to Kongma La pass then Lobuche

    Among the three high passes of Khumbu area, today we cross the first high pass of Kongma La at 5540m above sea level. Heading towards west of Chhukung on the rocky trail, we reach the Pokalde, further steeply walking across the Kongma la pass, we arrive at Lobuche in the evening. Overnight in local lodge.   • Day 9: Trek Lobuche to Gorekshep to Everest Base Camp to Gorekshep

    Today we wake up early in the morning and get ready for the challenging yet worthwhile experience of our EBC and three passes trek. We walk pass through the Khumbu glacier which is a tough path and we can feel that grand Everest Himalaya is not far from us. We can see the crest of highest Himalayas like Pumori, Nuptse, Along with other Himalayas. We check in to our guest house in Gorakshep, take a short rest, and in just 45 minutes walk more, we will arrive at base camp of Everest. We take pictures, celebrate the moment and return to Gorakshep. Overnight in local lodge. Walking time 7-8 hrs, Included Meals: B, L, D

  • Day 10: Gorekshep to Kalapattar and trek to Dzongla

    Kalapathher is basically the black rock  which is the vintage view point of Everest and nearby Himalayas. We begin our day early before sunrise to see the best views of snow capped Himalayas. After taking numerous pictures at Kalapathher,  we slowly trek down to Gorekshep and finally towards Dzongla which is yet another beautiful settlement offering fine Himalayan landscape views. Overnight in local lodge. Walking time 7-8 hrs, Included Meals: B, L, D

  • Day 11: Trek Dzongla - ChoLa -Thangnak

    We will be crossing another high altitude of Cho la pass today. After a steep and difficult ascent through the rocky trails, we begin to climb the steep path that leads us to Chola glacier that lets us walking through crevasse just below the pass. We enjoy the beautiful view of Ama dablam, Kangtena, Thamserku and Numbur on Gokyo side. In this way crossing the long downhill walk through the hamlet, we arrive at Thangnak. Overnight in local lodge. Walking time 7 – 8 hrs, Included Meals: B, L, D

  • Day 12: Trek from Thagnak to Gokyo

    Initially, we start our day walking through the lateral moraine of Ngozumpa glacier and descend towards the glacier. Following the glacier moraine path, we explore exceptionally beautiful turquoise colored Gokyo lakes. We even get towards Scoundrel’s view point to witness excellent views of Everest Himalayan range along with Tibetan Himalayas too. It would be magical sunset at Gokyo village. Overnight in local lodge. Walking time 3-4 hrs, Included Meals: B, L, D

  • Day 13: Rest day in Gokyo : Gokyo Ri

    Today we acclimatize at Gokyo village, hike towards Gokyo ri to capture the best views of nearby Gokyo Lakes, Ngozumpa glacier along with best panoramic views of Cho-Oyu, Gyanchung, Nuptse, Makalu and other Himalayan peaks.  If you have interest and energy left, we can even hike towards fifth lake. Beyonf the fifth lake, there is Cho Oyu base camp. Enjoying the exceptional beauty, we return to Gokyo village later on the day. Overnight in local lodge. Walking time 5-6 hrs, Included Meals: B, L, D

  • Day 14: Trek Gokyo – Cross Renjo La and trek to Lungden

    Early in the morning after having our breakfast, we make our way towards third and final pass of Renjo La. We cross the steep sandy bridge and cross a river stream that mostly remains frozen. While being there at Renjo La Pass, we get plenty of opportunity to spot excellent views of Himalayan panoramas which higher than 7000 to 8000 meters high. We will then gradually descend through the slippery trails. Enjoying the beautiful alpine atmosphere, we finally arrive at the small settlements of Lungden. Overnight in local lodge. Walking time 7-8 hrs, Included Meals: B, L, D

  • Day 15: Trek from Lungden to Namche Bazzar

    Today will be easy downhill walk towards the lower altitude. We will further head towards Bhotekoshi. Then we will head towards Langmuche Ri and cross through Thame, the route will then trade towards Tibetan traders for more than hundred Sherpa villages, we will further towards settlement. We will enjoy the Tibetan caravans, Khampas, which is the trading route to Namche and Tibet. After passing through a check post through hydroelectric power station built with Austrian help. Then after crossing the Laudo monastery. We will finally arrive at Namche at the end of the day. Overnight local lodge. Walking time: 7-8 hours. Included Meals: B, L, D.

  • Day 16: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla

    Today we will be returning to Lukla. Exploring the best of Himalayas, culture and local Sherpa traditions, passing through the suspension bridges, prayer flags, prayer wheels, we finally return to Lukla from where it all started. We will celebrate the successful completion of our trek today. Overnight in local lodge. Walking time 6 – 7 hrs, Included Meals: B, L, D

  • Day 17: Fly back to Kathmandu

    We will catch a morning flight from Lukla to Kathmandu today. Due to unpredictable weather conditions, mostly the flights are scheduled on mornings. Sometimes, flight may get delayed or cancelled due to bad weather. After your arrival at Kathmandu, transfer to your hotel which will finally conclude our Everest base camp and three passes trek. Overnight in Kathmandu Hotel. Included Meals: B

  • Day 18: Leisure day in Kathmandu, in case of bad weather in the mountain

    Today is our contingency day, planned in case of any flight delays or if things didn’t went according to plan. It is highly recommended to plan one extra day.

  • Day 19: Final Departure from Nepal to your onward destination

    After all your packing is done, you will be transferred to Tribhuwan International Airport in time for your scheduled international flight. We hope you liked our services and recommend others too. See you again soon. Farewell.
