“Trek through the mystical landscapes of Nepal and discover the true meaning of trekking with us.”
Normally, yes, out in the open wilderness of Nepal it’s quite possible for trekkers to trek without a guide in Nepal. While we talk about the popular “treks” in Nepal, you can actually think about them as a high-altitude hiking through exotic indigenous villages along a picturesque Himalayan trail. However, trekking in Nepal can be a very risky task for solo trekkers once in a while. Even the Government of Nepal has bespoken to suggest trekkers to not go alone into the far reaches of Nepal’s trekking regions. You can never say what may or may not happen during one or two weeks of trekking where the factors such as remoteness & isolation make it hard for help to arrive.
Nepal is popularly considered to be one of the most beautiful places in the world for trekking. And surely there won’t be a bigger, larger adventure activity than to explore the Nepalese Himalayas by going on a trek. Some may choose a trekking company for that or just hire a personal trekking guide/porter or go solo. But one should acknowledge the fact that there are several dangers and repercussion of trekking solo in Nepal. As there have been many recorded fatal incidents which took place during the trekking journey of many solo travelers who didn’t bring or consult with any professional guides or porters. Hence, it’s not uncommon to hear that many consider trekking with a local trekking guide for many of their treks.
First of all, hiring a guide for your trek can be a very clever decision for trekkers who don’t want to get themselves stuck up with the issues & complications of planning the entire trek from the ground up to the finale. You won’t have to spend your time worrying or thinking about booking a teahouse, finding a porter or getting lost during the trek. Having a guide beside you will always benefit you as they are skilled and experienced to decide which route to take or make alternate plans if something unthought off happened like blocked trekking routes. And matter of fact, guides become more necessary if you find yourself in a situation where you need to get evacuated or rescued. Your guide can manage a vehicle transportation and even help call out helicopter if you need to rescuing.
As you can see there’s not much disadvantage when it comes to hiring a trekking guide. But on the other hand, if you were to go for an independent trekking in Nepal, then there are many cautious factors to remain vigilant about. There are many situations in which individually independent trekkers who came to Nepal in the hope exploring the vast trekking trails and experiencing a trip of a lifetime but got their hopes crushed as they found themselves in a troubling, hazardous situation. Due to which some even lost their life and some had to rescued. As they trekked independently, rescuing or searching for them becomes even more difficult. Therefore, it normally takes days for government officials to hear about their disappearance and even more days to find them.
Along with that, we would like to recommend Everest Base Camp Trek, Annapurna Base Camp Trek, Upper Mustang Trek & Manaslu Circuit Trek to travelers who want to experience the true aesthetic feeling of trekking in Nepal. Lastly, we just want to say that Nepal is a naturally blessed nation which is a must visit destination for trekkers around the world but do recommend going along with a guide rather than going for a solo trekking in Nepal.
